Krillion glossary
Every word you’ll meet on the way down.
Last revised
This Krillion glossary explains every term the game uses, from the Daily Dive and its seven prompts to the six tiers, the gem, the ⬛ miss and the dive buddies you unlock with a streak. Names, points and lines are checked against the game itself.
The daily dive
- Daily Dive
- The main Krillion game: the same seven prompts for every player, once a day. Each Krillion dive has a number, counted from Krillion #1 on July 16, 2026.
- Prompt
- One of the seven questions in a dive, such as “Name a type of chair”. You get one answer per Krillion prompt. Every past prompt has its own page in the prompt index.
- Reset
- When the next Krillion dive starts: midnight New York time (04:00 UTC in summer, 05:00 UTC in winter). See what time Krillion resets for your time zone.
- Answer sheet
- Our name for the full list of answers Krillion accepts for a dive, each with its tier. For free, the game only shows the current day’s dive; past ones are in its paid archive. Here every past sheet is free to read in our archive.
- Answer note
- The one-line fact Krillion attaches to some answers, like “First used at Auburn Prison, New York, in 1890.” for Electric chair.
Krillion tiers, points and depth
- Tier
- How rare Krillion thinks your answer is. There are six Krillion tiers, from Plankton at the surface to One in a Krillion on the trench floor; players also call them Krillion levels or ranks. The full breakdown is in the six tiers explained.
- 🫧 Plankton
- 10 points, 100 m. The game’s line: “The answer everyone blurts out.”
- 🤡 Too Clever
- 15 points, 150 m. The game’s line: “A famously ‘obscure’ pick. Everyone reaches for it.” The rarest Krillion tier in practice: see every Too Clever answer.
- 🐟 Schooler
- 30 points, 300 m. The game’s line: “Solid — swims with the school.”
- 🦑 Rare
- 60 points, 600 m. The game’s line: “Genuinely uncommon. Nice pull.”
- 🏮 Deep Cut
- 85 points, 850 m. The game’s line: “True obscurity. Few go this deep.”
- 🌟 One in a Krillion
- 100 points, 1,000 m. The game’s line: “The designated gem. Trench floor.” Also called the gem.
- Gem
- The answer Krillion picks as a prompt’s prize, in the One in a Krillion tier, worth 100 points. We list every gem so far.
- ⬛ Miss
- A prompt that ends without an accepted answer. A miss scores 0 Krillion points and shows as ⬛ in a shared result.
- Depth
- Krillion turns points into metres: every point is 10 m, so a 300-point dive reaches 3,000 m.
- Trench floor
- The deepest a Krillion dive can go: 700 points, or 7,000 m, which takes the gem on all seven prompts.
- Verdict
- The line Krillion gives your daily total. There are 5, from “Plankton. Plenty of ocean left down there.” below 151 to “One in a krillion. Trench dweller. Absurd.” at 450 and up. See what a good Krillion score is.
Sharing a Krillion result
- What Krillion copies when you share: “Krillion #number 🦐”, your score, then one emoji per prompt. Unlimited results use “Krillion ∞” instead of a dive number. The Krillion emoji guide decodes every symbol.
Modes, streaks and dive buddies
- Unlimited
- The endless version of the Daily Dive, marked ∞ in the game’s menu. It keeps dealing new prompts with the same Krillion tiers and scoring; once you reach the end of the free part, the rest is a paid unlock.
- ⟲ Archive
- Krillion’s own archive of past daily dives, marked ⟲ in the game’s menu. It opens behind the same unlock screen as Unlimited.
- Themed packs
- Sets of Krillion dives on one subject, such as At the Movies, Sports and Geography. What each costs is in our Unlimited and packs guide.
- Streak
- How many days in a row you have played the Daily Dive. Krillion tracks your current streak and your longest one.
- Dive buddy
- The mascot that dives with you. The Krill is the default; the others unlock with a longer streak: Schooler at a 5-day streak, Rare Squid at a 14-day streak, Deep Cut Angler at a 30-day streak, Evil Krill at a 45-day streak.
