Who made Krillion?
One diver, one ocean of answers.
Last revised
Krillion is made by one person who goes by kp. In the game’s official FAQ, kp writes: “I’m kp, the person behind Krillion. The name’s just a pseudonym for now,” and adds that they are “a 22-year-old American CS grad.” Krillion #1 was the dive for July 16, 2026.
Everything below about who made Krillion and how it works comes from the game’s own FAQ, menu and privacy policy, checked on October 16, 2026.
Krillion is a one-person game
Asked whether Krillion is developed by a team, the FAQ answers: “No, just me.” The Krillion privacy policy says the same thing in other words: Krillion is “a daily game at krillion.io, run by one person.”
kp explains why the FAQ names them at all: “other people are claiming to be me, and Google’s AI search is currently listing some random dude who made a copycat clone as Krillion’s creator.” So if a search result or a lookalike site names someone else as the creator of Krillion, the game itself says otherwise. Krillion.wiki is a fan site too, and we are not kp.
When Krillion came out
The Daily Dive is numbered from its first day. Krillion #1 was July 16, 2026, which makes today’s dive Krillion #106, dated October 29, 2026. A new Krillion dive starts every day at midnight New York time (04:00 UTC in summer, 05:00 UTC in winter).
The game doesn’t publish a dated history of its other features, so rather than guess at a timeline, here is what Krillion’s menu offers as of October 16, 2026:
- Daily dive: seven prompts a day, the same for everyone.
- ∞ Unlimited and ⟲ Archive: endless dives and past daily dives, behind a $5 unlock. Details are in our Unlimited and packs guide.
- Themed packs: dives on one subject, such as At the Movies, Sports and Geography.
- My Krillion and Friends: an optional account (Google sign-in) and a Friends page.
- A Discord Activity: a version of Krillion you can play inside Discord.
- Merch: tees, sweats and caps from the official store.
The menu also links to Chainle, which it describes as a “fun word association game made by my little brother.”
How Krillion picks its answers
The Krillion FAQ is open about how each answer sheet is built:
- Collecting answers. Answer sets come from “aggregating datasets (dictionaries, wiki pages, encyclopedias, whatever sources the question calls for)”, then merging and cleaning them into one set.
- Deciding rarity. Some Krillion prompts are scored “entirely mechanically against a familiarity database” of how often a word or name turns up in what people read and write. Others get “a combination of LLM assistance and a manual pass.”
- Choosing the gem. The One in a Krillion answer “isn’t chosen on rarity alone”: it’s also picked for fun factor, because “the gem should be something at least a few of you actually get.” That’s why a gem can be less obscure than some Deep Cuts. Our list of every gem so far shows the result.
- Missing answers. If a fair answer isn’t accepted, the FAQ’s explanation is simple: “Because I didn’t find it, sorry.”
That last point fits what we see. Our archive has tracked the Krillion answer sheet since September 28, 2026, and the game changed it after release on 32 of the 32 days, adding 10,535 answers in total. The numbers are on our Krillion stats page.
What’s next for Krillion
According to the FAQ:
- A Krillion app is coming “eventually.”
- Multiplayer is coming “eventually” too, and a party game based on Krillion is “in the planning stages.”
- More themed packs are planned, but “right now the focus is on perfecting answer set curation and rarity selection.”
